Bonus Freedom to Ski days November 9th+10th!

OpeningDaySkiers

Welcome to Ski Season 2024/2025!

Thank you for everyone who came out to our Freedom to Ski Bonus Weekend! We had so much fun catching some early season turns, and we hope you did too! If you weren’t able to make it out, catch us for our official opening THIS Saturday, November 16th!

We’d like to give a huge shout-out to our snowmaking team, lift operations, and so many other on and off mountain teams who have been working day and night to make this possible!

After we open November 9th and 10th, we will close again and will reopen for daily operations November 16th until we close in the Spring! Give our Instagram or Facebook a follow for updates!

What terrain will be open?

Guests will load Lift 1 (Purgatory Express) at the base and can then lap Lift 2 (Engineer) terrain. To return to the base, skiers will be downloading Lift 1. We will have Limbo, West Fork, Sa’s Psyche, and El Diablo open for skiing this weekend! Headwaters will also be open with a smaller park for the Bonus Days, and then expand its features for full time operations. Trails will open at 9am for first chair, and close at 3:30pm to allow time for downloading.

Everyone is welcome on opening day, but due to early-season conditions, please be advised that no beginner or low-level intermediate terrain will be available. Our tree runs do not have adequate coverage to be safe, and rope-ducking will result in passes being pulled. Please refer to the snow report for the most up-to-date information regarding open lifts, trails, and snow data throughout the season. Pick up your pass this week at our downtown shop, or this weekend at the mountain!

There will be no access via the Columbine Lift. Resort Shuttles will be available for guests parking in the Lower Columbine lots.

A little more Freedom to Ski data:

Get your lift tickets online early!

Prices are as cheap as $29 this weekend! Check out our variable pricing calendar and make your purchase! Day tickets will be more expensive at the ticket office the day of, so purchase ahead of time to take advantage of lower prices!

Or, pick them up the day of!

The ticket windows and indoor guest services will be open from 8:30am to 2:00pm both Saturday and Sunday for tickets and season passes. Tickets are at the window only, season passes are inside only. If you have purchased a season pass you will need an ID with a birthdate on it in order to get it printed.

If you’ll be visiting for 4 to 7 days this winter, check out our multi-day flex tickets for when we open for daily operations after November 16th.

Pro Tip: If you have your Purg Card or Season Pass* from last season, you can skip the ticket office. Just make sure to “activate” your Pass or Purg Card via the link in your confirmation email and enter required information.
Less waiting. More shredding.

(*Not all season passes will have this ability. You need to have received a confirmation email confirming the renewal of your pass. Otherwise a new pass will be required, and last years will not work)

What facilities will be open?

The Powderhouse will be offering canned beer, hot dogs, chili and assorted drinks on the deck from 10:30am – 2:30pm

The Bear Bar will be open from 10:30am – 4:00pm for beer, hot dogs, chili, and assorted drinks.

Let’s do our bonus days right:

Let’s Have Fun Out There (and be safe!): Skiing is fun and we are stoked to be able to get out there. Purgatory reminds skiers and riders that safety is a top priority when early season conditions exist. Stay on open trails, keep speed in check, and maintain a safe distance from others on the mountain. Closed terrain is closed for a reason, including the path to the bottom. We look forward to welcoming you back for another exciting season on the slopes!
