Which beer was the best beer? Trick question, they were all cold, so they were all the best. Purg had a great time throwing our second ever Oktoberfest. This event has become a Summer staple for Durango, and people showed up in mass to celebrate Fall rolling in on this beautiful sunny Sunday. Featuring brews from Ska, Breckenridge brewery, Telluride, and more, there were no empty steins in sight. Just the way we like it.
The vibe was high with music from Neue Polka Colorado and State 38. Everyone’s tummies were full with more than just beer. Salty savory snacks were available at all the pour stations, including brats, soft pretzels, and… German Pizza? We weren’t sure at first, but Paradise Pizza managed to perfectly marry Garlic Cream Sauce, Mashed Potato, Smoked Bratwurst, and Sauerkraut on a pizza, and it was the perfect lunch with a nice cold glass of Hefeweizen.
We’ll consider this Oktoberfest a big success. Definitely set a reminder and mark your calendars for next year so you don’t miss this perfect send off for summer!
